Khartoum – Russia Ambassador to Khartoum Amir Ghiath asserted coincidence of viewpoints between the two countries on mutual issues, adding that his country is looking forwards to enhancing cooperation with Sudan.
Meeting with First Vice President Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Saleh on Wednesday, Ghiath praised the supportive role played by Sudan during the development of the Ukraine crisis, emphasizing continuation of Russian support to Sudan in the UN-Security Council.
He told the press the meeting of Sudan-Russia joint diplomatic committee conducted in Moscow recently concentrated on the preparations for ministerial meeting on economic and commercial collaboration between the two countries scheduled to take place in December 11, 12 in Moscow.
Further, Ghiath announced that Russia Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Sudan next December.
