Khartoum – National Congress Party leading figure, Dr. Ismail El-Haj Musa announced that the national dialogue will begin this week in the presence of the President of the Republic, Omar Al Bashir.
He added after the nomination of the sub-committees’ heads, the mechanism members, the national figures and the civil society organisations’ representative that nothing stands in the way of the national dialogue launching next week.
Ismail affirmed during Omdurman Radio Events’ Echo Programme yesterday, that the national dialogue will take place inside Sudanese territories to avoid the internationalisation of internal issues.
“All the participants in the national dialogue are Sudanese nationals, so there is no justification to meet abroad to discuss our issues,” he said.
He revealed several initiatives forwarded by numerous bodies to convince those who refuse to participate in the national dialogue, pointing out that the University of Khartoum will organise a soon including all political parties to assess the national dialogue course.
Ismail called on the political forces to follow suit of the NCP in preparing for the upcoming elections, adding that the election could be delayed if the national dialogue recommends it.
He called for accomplishing the permanent constitution before the kick-off of the elections, highlighting that the constitution should be given top priority in the upcoming stage.
